Tips for Study Tour Students
Loveboaters will be on the tour for 5 weeks, so make sure you're
prepared!

TO BRING
Some handy helpful hints
• Have a list of handful phone numbers.
• Pack light-you'll need room for all the new stuff
(especially if you are going to Hong Kong,
which has strict luggage weight limits)
• Be the first to introduce yourself to everyone
you meet!
• Be helpful to students who don't speak Mandarin.
• Don't forget to snap those Kodak moments for the
photo contest!
• Money wise, travelers' checks are best since
there's a lot of credit fraud. If you do use
credit cards, MasterCard and Visa are widely
accepted. American Express and Discover, less so.
• Save enough money for airport taxes as necessary
• Bring pictures of loved ones for "show and tell"
and to combat homesickness!
• Ask for a dock of cards and any other freebies on
the airplane.
• Some popular nightclubs are: "Kiss", "ID4", and "Opium Den"
• Be prepared to improvise a costume for the
talent show and servant auction.
• You may want to purchase a gift of appreciation for
your counselors or teachers.
• Don't break the rules-You can be sent home!
• Watson's is the largest and most economical
drug store
• Buy and drink only bottled water.
• Taiwan uses the same voltage as the USA. You don't
need a converter.
• Finally, please, please act responsibly! Don't
embarrass or hurt your family!

A talent (for the talent show)
A super sized bottle of insect repellent
Discman/Walkman and music!
Several towels (bath and face size)
Walking/running shoes
A thick sweater or sweatshirt for down south
Money, money and mo' money
A calling card
Some sort of ID to get into clubs
Inflatable travel pillow (for airplane and
long bus rides)
Lots of shorts and T-shirts
A camera with lots of film and batteries
(Remember: photo contest!)
Bathing suit/Speedos (required for men when
swimming in public pools for sanitary purposes.)
Suntan lotion/Sunscreen
Sunglasses
